Estancia Don Joaquin is located in the most southern part of Corrientes, which is a region in the North of Argentina. There are different types of transport you can opt for when you’re looking to travel from Buenos Aires to Estancia Don Joaquin. In this article, we’ll give you all the necessary information and our personal recommendations.

Bus

The cheapest and most recommended way among our guests to get to our ranch is by bus. Long distance buses are actually very comfortable in Argentina.

Your final destination is Esquina, but your bus ticket will say your final destination is Goya. We’ll be waiting for you at the bus station of Esquina to drive you to our ranch.

The bus drive from Buenos Aires to Esquina takes between 7-8 hours. There is no service on board and the bus doesn’t stop for any breaks, so make sure you bring enough water/snacks as you wish.

Different bus companies offer bus rides from Buenos Aires to Esquina. The company we recommend you to book with is Flechabus or Empresa Silvia. You can book your bus ticket for Flechabus on Busbud (for international credit cards) and for Empresa Silvia on Plataforma10 (works for Argentinian cards only). The price of the bus ticket depends on the date, time and your seat selection. A one-way bus ticket generally costs between 30-40 USD.

We are more than happy to book your bus ticket for you instead. You can then pay the price of your ticket(s) in cash once you’ve arrived at la Estancia.

Day bus or night bus

The bus schedule allows you to choose to get on the bus during either day- or night time. Both options have their advantages, though we prefer and recommend the night bus.

If you choose to take the bus during day time, you get to stare out of the window during the drive across Entre Ríos. It’s a completely flat region with very low population density, so there isn’t a lot to see, but it’s a beautiful route anyway.

However, if you’d rather spend those 7+ hours sleeping throughout the night – which is what we’d recommend –, you can opt for a luxury bus that’s leaving from Buenos Aires at 20:30. You’ll then arrive to our ranch in the morning at 04:00, where a delicious breakfast will be waiting for you.

Cama suite, cama or semi cama

When booking your ticket, you can select the type of seat: cama suite, cama or semi cama (luxury bed, bed or semi bed). The cama suites allow you to recline your seat all the way back to enjoy a good sleep, like on a first class flight – which is what we’d recommend. The camas and semi camas are also adjustable, but not as much as the cama suites.

How to get to the bus station in Buenos Aires

We recommend you to be at the bus station at least 30 minutes prior to your departure time because it can be very busy at the terminal and the buses won’t wait for you if you’re late. This is the exact location of the terminal where Flechabus and Empresa Silvia buses are departing from.

To get to the bus station from the airport or your accommodation in Buenos Aires, you can either grab a taxi, or let our driver pick you up and bring you to the right terminal (gate 3) with plenty of spare time. If you’d like to book our driver to bring you to the bus terminal, simply send us a message. This service costs 25 USD.

Once at the bus station, you’ve got to head to the displays to see from which gate your bus is departing. Empresa Silvia usually departes from gate 26-36 with final destination Goya and Flechabus from gate 50-66 with final destination Resistencia.

Private transfer

If you prefer private transport over taking a bus, we can book a private driver for you. He will pick you up at your location in Buenos Aires and drive you all the way to our ranch, which takes around 7 hours. The price of this transfer is 390 USD (and may vary). Simply send us a message to arrange your private transfer.

Rental car

The final option is driving from Buenos Aires to Estancia Don Joaquin by yourself. You can rent a car at the airport or in the city, for example with Omega Car Rental. If you are planning on doing a road trip around Argentina, this is a great option. However, keep in mind that the distances in Argentina are very large and that some destinations are better reachable by airplane, which would make using public transportation throughout your whole trip a more convenient option.

We look forward to receiving you at Estancia Don Joaquin. If you need any further information, don’t hesitate to contact us.
